Summary

Tonia is passionate about providing high quality evidence-based literacy intervention for students with Dyslexia and/or reading, spelling and writing difficulties. At her private practice, ReadsWell, she works 1:1 with primary and secondary school students and regularly engages and liaises with schools, teachers and other agencies.

As an Associate Member of The Australian Dyslexia Association (AMADA), Tonia is an accredited Multisensory Structured Language (MSL) Specialist Educator. She is also a certified Practitioner of the linguistic phonics program, Sounds-Write. Tonia is committed to ongoing professional learning to ensure her teaching methodology aligns with Science of Reading (SoR) research.

Professional Experience

Tonia has over twenty years’ experience teaching in a variety of roles and educational settings. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree (Flinders University) and post-graduate Certificate in TESOL (Deakin University). Tonia has worked in government and Catholic schools, as well as in the tertiary sector at TAFE SA and ANU College, the academic pathway provider for The Australian National University. Her positions have included Classroom Teacher, ESL Teacher, Learning Support Teacher and English Lecturer.
