Summary

Jacquelyn Taylor is a highschooler from Midcoast Maine. Although she had many signs of a learning disability at age six, her official diagnosis of dyslexia was at age nine. She was then diagnosed with Dyscalculia at age 14. Since that time, she has devoted many hours to expanding her knowledge about her two learning disabilities. Jacquelyn wants to advocate for people who have differences in their thinking and learning abilities. On her advocacy journey, she has already accomplished the following:

  • Jacquelyn published her article in the March 2021 issue of Dystinct Magazine.
  • She created an account on the entertainment all 'TikTok' dedicated to spreading awareness and acceptance for people with Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. The account currently has a community of 4,000 people and continues to grow.
  • She is scheduled to be a speaker for Disability Awareness Month at her school.

This is only the start of her journey, she is very excited to promote awareness about these important topics.
